This NHS lead position requires a motivated individual to provide high quality clinical psychology expertise and leadership across CMHTs in all sectors of Edinburgh and West Lothian, as well as the acute in-patient wards at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and St John’s Hospital, West Lothian.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality clinical psychology expertise and leadership across CMHTs in all sectors of Edinburgh and West Lothian, as well as the acute in-patient wards at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and St John’s Hospital, West Lothian.
* Operational management, including line management of psychology staff and financial elements and strategic leadership.
* Lead and manage within multi-professional teams, proposing and implementing policy and service development changes for the specialist psychological therapy service; act as a highly specialist resource to the wider professional community within Lothian and nationally.
* Hold clinical governance responsibility for the delivery of psychological therapies across CMHTs/acute wards.
* Utilise high level research skills for audit, policy and service development as a requirement of the job.
Eligibility and Requirements
* PVG Scheme membership/record required. If not current for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult), an application to Disclosure Scotland must be made and deemed satisfactory before starting.
* Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, the post may require a different level of criminal records check. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Any changes will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
