Job role: Continuous Improvement Engineer Locations: Coventry with travel required to their Skelmersdale site. Contract role Duration - ongoing Salary - £49,500 Car allowance Job purpose The purpose of the role is to continuously actively identify and promote the implementation of improvements at a site (s) level in line with the UKIN BPE practices and methods of working. Whilst reporting locally, the role fits within the wider Business Process Excellence (BPE) structure of the Contract Logistics business and is part of the local site / regional based teams responsible for establishing, reviewing, promoting, and delivering operational efficiencies and best practices to existing contracts across our clients business line. The role will assist with on-site implementation of best practices and the deployment of our clients SCA & Kaizen programmes and reporting both centrally and locally of performance and progress. As a member of the wider LEAN and SCA Team, the individual will also be involved in supporting conducting Site Classification Assessments across both their own and other sites. Key Accountabilities Main areas of focus and accountability of the role detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the role: To carry out Continuous Improvement Activity at site level in line with our clients best practice guidelines including the SCA, Kaizen and SMART Solutions approach as directed by the country level BPE Team. Diagnostic, design and implementation activities conducted with the principal purpose of delivering improvements in safety, quality and operational productivity To carry out the implementation and training of LEAN and Continuous Improvement principles at site(s) To actively support the site(s) with Kaizen events and Kaizen feedback To support site(s) in their growth and development through deployment of our clients bespoke Site Classification Assessment (SCA) programme To continuously identify and promote improvements across the site, providing support in re-engineering and improving upon existing operational solutions. This will also include updating site PRIMOs to reflect any changes. To drive and enforce standards across the site (s) and actively promote a culture of Continuous Improvement Maintain good working relationships with colleagues in other functions (e.g. BD, IT, HR) to identify and recommend where appropriate solutions that enhance operating models To promote the LEAN and Continuous Improvement culture throughout the business To undertake training and support of the wider UKIN BPE Team, including joining SCAs at other sites Monitor and report upon performance at both a local site or multiple site level To promote the highest levels of internal and external customer care at all levels Carry out all activities consistently in line with both Global & UK & I BPE approach Knowledge, Experience & Skills The knowledge, experience and skills required to undertake the level at a fully competent level: Full Driving licence Internal LEAN Team programme experience or external LEAN / Six sigma qualification Degree calibre or equivalent Experience Experience of identifying & leading LEAN and Continuous Improvement techniques in operational environments delivering tangible results Management / supervisory experience in Warehouse / Transport operations or design Several years of experience in working as part of a team.
