Principal Accountabilities
* Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all tasks are delivered in line with the working-day timetable.
* Review and approve specific journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and alignment with global accounting policies.
* Maintain fixed asset registers, ensuring proper capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals.
* Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliation and control processes in partnership with operational teams.
* Manage lease accounting processes (e.g. IFRS 16), including right-of-use asset and liability calculations.
* Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled and resolved promptly.
Financial Controls, Governance & Compliance
* Maintain strong internal control compliance across all financial processes.
* Oversee balance sheet governance, ensuring reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and fully understood.
* Ensure compliance with global accounting policies and accounting standards.
* Support internal and external audits through preparation of schedules, evidence, and responses.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting and systems.
Cashflow, Working Capital & Treasury Support
* Lead the preparation of the weekly 13‑week cash flow forecast with insights into risks and opportunities.
* Monitor working capital performance, including debtors, creditors and stock.
* Oversee the AP process, ensuring strong controls, supplier management and approval workflow compliance.
* Support cash discipline across the organisation, ensuring timely and accurate cash management practices.
Financial Governance & Control
* Ensure strong financial controls are in place across operational areas, including revenue, cost and margin management.
* Support operational budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, ensuring accuracy and ownership.
* Support audit processes and ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory standards.
* Champion continuous improvement in financial processes, systems and reporting.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead, coach and support the finance team to deliver high-quality outputs and meet deadlines.
* Manage team priorities and workflows, ensuring effective resource allocation.
* Develop team capability through coaching, training and regular performance feedback.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and collaboration.
