Veterinary Surgeon – Nights (Fixed-Term Maternity Cover) Liverpool Up to £85,000 Pro-Rata Part-Time – 7 On / 21 Off The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive team at a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in Liverpool on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking excellent work-life balance, offering a 7 nights on, 21 nights off rota, working just 7 nights per month while remaining fully involved in a thriving emergency and critical care environment. The successful candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with a few years of clinical experience and a strong interest in emergency and critical care (ECC). They will demonstrate a client-focused approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative clinical team. Skills & Experience Required The ideal candidate will have: • RCVS registration as a Veterinary Surgeon • Several years of small animal clinical experience • Experience delivering high standards of patient and client care • Strong teamwork and communication skills • The ability to demonstrate clinical leadership • Experience supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures • A passion for continuous improvement and progressive clinical standards • The ability to coach and influence colleagues positively About the Practice The successful candidate will join a busy, well-equipped RCVS-accredited Small Animal Hospital providing comprehensive veterinary services, including: • 24-hour emergency veterinary care • 24-hour intensive care • CT imaging • Dentistry • ECG diagnostics • Endoscopy • In-house laboratory • Orthopaedic theatre • Ultrasound • Digital X-ray The hospital features separate cat waiting areas and operating theatres, ensuring a calm and stress-reduced environment for feline patients.
