Full time, permanent Qualified Teachers Pay Scale + SEN Allowance 1 (£2,787.00 per annum) Bridgwater College Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate LEAD SEND Teacher to join our specialist ASC Polden Centre, working with students who have autism and other needs such as ADHD. About the Role
* Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching to small groups of students within the Polden Centre (primarily English and/or Maths, plus wider curriculum).
* Adapt lessons and schemes of work to meet the individual needs outlined in student EHCPs.
* Build positive, professional and trusting relationships with vulnerable learners.
* Promote the wellbeing, progress and personal development of all students.
* Assess, record and report on student progress using clear systems and documentation.
* Work collaboratively with the Head of Centre, SEND Teachers and LSAs, as well as mainstream colleagues.
* Communicate effectively with parents/carers and external agencies.
* Create an engaging, safe and supportive classroom environment that celebrates success.
* Contribute to SEND documentation, Annual Reviews and personalised learning plans.
* Participate in break/lunch duties and wider school responsibilities.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusion, child development and supporting students with ASC and other SEND needs.
Qualifications
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Has experience teaching students with SEND (either in specialist or mainstream settings).
* Understands how to adapt lessons, manage behaviour positively and meet a range of learning needs.
* Is reflective, enthusiastic and committed to professional development.
* Builds strong relationships with students, staff and families.
