An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, personable, dynamic and self-motivated individual, to join the Patient Access Team as a Booking Co-ordinator. You will also have the opportunity to work and train in other areas within Patient Access, gaining essential skills and experience to support ongoing personal development.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the Patient Access Team, the Booking Co-ordinator role is pivotal in ensuring we achieve several government targets around patient waiting times.
You will also be dealing with queries from internally and externally, providing an efficient and effective administration service.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
10. Good Basic Education
11. GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
Desirable criteria
12. Customer Care Course or equivalent
EXPERIENCE

13. Previous NHS or health care experience
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
14. Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills to enable liaison with multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers.
15. Excellent keyboard skills to ensure all Outpatient activity is recorded onto the bespoke database in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
16. Able to give 100% attention to detail when scheduling of appointments to prevent breaches of waiting list targets.
17. Aware of Confidentiality code of practice in relation to patients and staff.
18. Able to work under pressure and deal with conflict situations to an amicable conclusion.
19. Flexible working attitude in order to be multi skilled in different areas of the service.
20. Ensure punctuality and reliability of self to ensure good relationship within team environment.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Essential criteria
22. Booking coordinators are required to work using VDU and keyboards and also deal with patients/ other contacts face to face and on the telephone.
23. The Outpatients areas may operate between the hours of 8.30am and 8.00pm Monday to Friday and post holders may be expected to work on an internal rota and be flexible to cover absences.
PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
