About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and reflective Key Stage 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school on a one-year temporary contract. Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2.
* Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining learners.
* Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform future teaching.
* Create a stimulating and well-organised classroom environment that supports learning and positive behaviour.
Assessment & Progress
* Track and assess pupil progress regularly, maintaining accurate records.
* Provide constructive feedback to pupils to support their development.
* Contribute to whole-school assessment processes and pupil progress meetings.
Behaviour & Safeguarding
* Implement the school’s behaviour policy consistently to promote a positive and respectful classroom culture.
* Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection at all times.
* Ensure pupils feel safe, valued, and supported in their learning environment.
Collaboration & Professional Development
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and leadership teams.
* Engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to continuous school improvement.
* Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
Wider School Contribution
* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
* Contribute to extracurricular activities where appropriate.
* Support the ethos and values of the school community.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (including ECT placements).
* Strong knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum.
* Excellent classroom management skills.
* Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working in a similar primary setting.
* Knowledge of effective strategies for supporting SEND pupils.
* Experience with assessment frameworks and data tracking.
* Willingness to contribute to wider school life and enrichment activities.
