Field Based Electrical Maintenance and Fire Safety Engineer role with GET STAFFED ONLINE RECRUITMENT LIMITED for Guardian Jobs. Pay: £40,000 - £45,000 per year. Job Type: Full-time. Schedule: Monday to Friday (including some nights away each week).
About The Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Field-Based Electrical Maintenance & Fire Safety Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you''ll carry out installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, fire detection systems, and portable fire extinguishers across a variety of commercial and industrial sites. This is a field-based position requiring travel to client premises, so flexibility and autonomy are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, inspect, and maintain low-voltage electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
* Test, service, and maintain fire detection and alarm systems to BS 5839-1 standards
* Carry out inspection, maintenance, and recharging of fire extinguishers in line with BS 5306-3/8/9
* Complete and submit accurate reports, safety documentation, and compliance records
* Diagnose faults and propose appropriate corrective actions
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures and fire safety legislation
* Ensure all jobs, maintenance or remedial works are attended to where possible, escalate to your line manager if delays or difficulties are encountered
* Practice good housekeeping onsite and in vehicle
* Identify quality of work, rectify any mistakes that have occurred
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation or equivalent
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
* FIA Qualified in Fire Detection & Alarm System Design / Maintenance (or willingness to obtain)
* BAFE SP101 or equivalent qualification for extinguisher servicing
* Valid ECS Card or CSCS Card
* Full UK Driving Licence

* Demonstrates a logical and highly competent approach to the installation of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
