About The Role Balfour Beatty Power T&D is looking to recruit a Quality Control Engineer, based on site in Kirriemuir. The role will support the delivery of Balfour Beatty projects in line with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments. This includes carrying out verification activities to demonstrate compliance with Balfour Beatty standards, external accreditations, and industry best practice. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of procedures, including the review and management of supply chain submissions. The role will also assure that materials supplied meet client requirements and are delivered right first time, supporting a high-quality, defect-free outcome.
What youll be doing
* Attend factory acceptance tests and conduct inspections at suppliers and ensure that all requirements are fulfilled.
* Produce Manufacturing Assurance Plans to manage risk-based intervention activities within the supply chain.
* Ensure goods received are in accordance with Balfour Beatty requirements.
* Generate and maintain records of Factory Acceptance Tests/Inspections.
* Identify and control non-conforming material and raise non-conformance reports as necessary.
* Assist with investigation of root cause to ensure that suitable corrective action plans are developed.
* Collate final quality records for the handover of assets to client.
* Support establishment of a continuous improvement culture.
* Ensure that all work practices comply with PT&D legal and statutory requirements relating to health and safety.
* Undertake other duties as required.
* Challenge existing systems and processes ensuring best practice and continual improvement.
* Contribute to the delivery of a continuous improvement culture.

The Following Qualities/experience Are Essential
* A full UK Driving Licence
* Ability and willingness to travel and work throughout the UK and overseas.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Good communication skills
* Observant and high levels of attention to detail.
* Good report writing and numeracy skills.
* Good IT skills (knowledge of MS Office 365)
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Knowledge of electrical/mechanical testing of products.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
The Following Qualities/experience Are Desirable
* Trained ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and/or Internal Auditor
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and process controls
* Professional Quality Qualifications
* Experience in attending, or carrying out, Factory Acceptance Testing
* Experience in using Digital Progressive Assurance systems
