About the programme The fully funded, part-time Step in2 Apprenticeship programmes are an excellent starting point for building the knowledge and skills that employers are seeking. This programme is designed to prepare you for an apprenticeship by providing essential hands-on experience. While participating, you will have the opportunity to enhance your qualifications by completing Maths and English, if necessary, along with industry-specific certifications in Engineering sectors. The Step in2 Apprenticeship programme aims to boost your confidence, helping you gain valuable experience to pursue a full apprenticeship, further education, or secure full-time employment. Duration Typically this programme will run from September to July Location During your time on programme you will be given the opportunity to participate in work experience alongside your in centre learning. The in centre learning will take place in our Gen2 centre based in Carlisle. Programme Components The programme delivered through Gen2 will consist of: Completion of 6 Performing Engineering Operation units including Mechanical, Electrical and Welding Skills Employability Skills Learners will be required to have or achieve Level 2 English and Maths prior to completion of their programme. Entry Requirements Applicants must be aged 16-18 by September 2025, or aged 19-24 with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
