Client & Role Information
Client: Cardiff & Vale University Health Board. Role: Locum Consultant in Rheumatology. Rates: £100 – £120 per hour (PAYE). Shifts: 09:00am – 17:00pm, Monday – Friday. Location: University Hospital Of Wales.
Contract Details
* 3‑month contract, extendable to 31 March 2026
* Full‑time
* 6 clinical sessions per week (new and follow‑up, 6 new appointments per session)
* Sessions at UHW and UHL
* 1 admin session
* Weekly MDT/radiology meeting on Wednesdays
* On‑call rota shared with team

Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat common rheumatology diseases, injuries, and conditions for patients of all ages and genders
* Carry out and interpret tests, provide preventative care, and recommend healthy lifestyle practices
* Manage acute and long‑term patient issues
* Refer to hospital consultants or other specialists as required
Qualifications
* GMC registered Doctor (no need to be on Specialist Register)
* Relevant Consultant‑level experience or references supporting transition to Consultant level
* Right to work in the UK (stand‑alone evidence)
* Pass enhanced DBS background check
