SEND Case Worker
Location: Knowsley
Pay Rate: £25.00 per hour (PAYE) - £32.82 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Case Worker to join a well-established local authority SEND service in Knowsley. This is a key statutory role supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, ensuring they receive timely, lawful, and person-centred support.
The Role
As a SEND Case Worker, you will manage a caseload of children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring assessments, reviews, and plans are completed in line with statutory timescales and legislation. You will work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and social care colleagues to deliver high-quality outcomes.
This role is suited to someone who is highly organised, confident working within statutory frameworks, and able to manage complex cases while maintaining strong relationships with families and professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of SEND cases from referral through to assessment, EHCP issuance, and annual review
* Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments in line with the Children and Families Act 2014
* Draft clear, accurate, and legally compliant EHCPs
* Ensure statutory timescales are met and maintained
* Act as a key point of contact for parents, carers, young people, and professionals
* Work collaboratively with education settings, health partners, and social care teams
* Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, reviews, and panels
* Respond to parental queries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
* Support preparation for mediation and SEND Tribunal where required
* Maintain accurate records and case notes on electronic systems
* Use data and performance information to manage workload and identify risks
Essential Skills and Experience
* Previous experience working as a SEND Case Worker or within a SEND/EHCP service
* Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory guidance
* Experience coordinating multi-agency assessments and reviews
* Excellent written skills, with experience drafting EHCPs
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with families
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
