Overview
One of the most energy efficient operators in the UK oilseed sector, producing sustainable, high-quality animal feed and food-grade vegetable oil is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) in Stratford upon Avon. It is a state-of-the-art plant, generating heat and power for the process from UK forestry residues and as such contributes to a greener and more sustainable environment for the UK.
Main purpose of the job
To ensure maintenance and reliability targets are achieved in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with company and regulatory standards (Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety) and industry accreditations (BRC and FEMAS).
Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring all routine PPM tasks are completed on time, safely and to the site food and feed safety standards.
* Assisting production with equipment breakdown both during normal day shift and whilst on call.
* Working with the Maintenance Supervisor to further develop, optimise and improve site maintenance regime.
* Assisting, where required, with the installation of new process equipment and modifications.
* Coordinate / work along contractors performing maintenance or new projects in the plant.
* Support Risk Assessments and all H&S improvement activities
* To ensure that all completed corrective and preventative maintenance is recorded and kept up-to-date in all relevant systems.
Personal Responsibilities
* To comply with all the Health and Safety responsibilities as defined in the company Health and Safety policy.
* To respond efficiently and pro-actively to plant breakdowns.
* To ensure that quality, food and feed safety standards are maintained in accordance with relevant company procedures and documentation is accurately completed, and non-conformities reported.
* To ensure workshops and spares warehouse areas are kept clean and tidy.
* To work with the rest of the site team highlighting opportunities for operational and business improvements.
Qualifications / Skills
ESSENTIAL:
* Knowledge and understanding of Predictive, Preventive and Corrective maintenance.
* Minimum 5 years operational experience working in maintenance in a processing and/or Manufacturing environment.
* Electrical or Mechanical Engineering education from City and Guilds, Higher National Certificate level and above.
* Strong electrical background – Time served and experience with inverters, relays, sensors, motors, 3-phase /single phase electricity, reading electrical / mechanical drawings / process instrumentation.
* Electrical fault finding - PLCs, SCADA systems, instrumentation etc.
* Positive, proactive approach to maintenance and safety.
* An electrical engineering city and guilds / apprenticeship is required
* Hold an electrical qualification such as 17th or 18th edition (desirable).
* Previously worked within a food production / heavy plant / chemical process environment (desirable).
* High voltage training experience (desirable)
DESIRABLE:
* Working knowledge of CMMS systems.

* Physically healthy and capable of working in a production site environment involving stairs, rung ladders and some high-level work areas.
