We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Financial Controller to support the financial operations for our Home & Installs divisions. This role will assist the Financial Controller in managing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and timeliness in all financial matters. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
*This role offers hybrid working with regular visits to our Stevenage office*

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
2. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
3. Monitor and report on business KPIs
4. Maintain and improve internal controls and financial procedures
5. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
6. Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors
7. Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger activities
8. Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management
9. Contribute to process improvements and system upgrades
10. Supervise and support finance staff as needed
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
1. Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within industry
2. A recognized technical accounting qualification from school/college or at the early stages of a professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA; study support will be provided for those wishing to pursue or continue with professional qualifications
3. Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards
4. Proficiency in financial software and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
6. Attention to detail
