Position
Vacancy for a Radiography Assistant in the X‑ray Department at Weston General Hospital for a fixed‑term contract until 4/12/2026. The role is 37.5 hours per week.
Work Hours
Work 37.5 hours per week between 8am – 8pm, including weekends. Weekend working is required as part of this role.
Department Overview
The department operates 24/7 and performs over 100,000 examinations each year, ranging from routine X‑ray to ultrasound, CT and MRI scans.
Role Overview
The Radiography Assistant provides essential support to Radiographers and Radiologists before, during and after X‑ray procedures. The role is challenging yet rewarding, with patient care at its core. Excellent communication and people skills are essential.
Duties
* Assist with X‑ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI examinations under direct supervision.
* Provide compassionate patient care to agreed quality standards.
* Work collaboratively with the direct care team to meet patient needs.
* Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
* Progress development of further skills, knowledge and competencies.
