Salary: £68,000+ (DOE) plus performance bonus and car allowance

Your Role
As the SHE Governance Lead, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing SHE governance across our AIR business. Collaborating closely with senior leaders, trade unions, and external auditors, you’ll align systems and processes with corporate objectives, fostering collaboration and ensuring compliance.
Core Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of SHE professionals, including auditors and management systems specialists.

Plan and oversee audit programs, ensuring effective risk identification and closure of non-conformances (NCRs).

Utilize data insights to drive performance, identify trends, and share learnings from incidents.
*
Coordinate integrated business planning, aligning SME input with SHE strategy and organizational objectives.
*
Manage governance forums and reporting, ensuring alignment with the AIR governance framework.
*
Act as the central point of contact for SHE governance, supporting acquisitions and overseeing systems and processes.
*
Represent the SHE Function in various working groups to ensure compliance with BAE Systems policies.
Essential Skills
* Strong understanding of management systems, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality frameworks.
* Proven knowledge of audit processes and management practices.
* Experience in leading and developing teams within a governance or operational environment.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, engaging effectively across all business levels.
* Familiarity with software and data management systems to support governance and reporting.
About the SHE Governance and Assurance Team
You’ll be at the heart of a collaborative network, partnering with senior managers, trade unions, and external auditors to deliver effective SHE governance. This role spans multiple functions, including SHE, Operations, and subject matter expert teams, ensuring that governance activities are delivered consistently and on time.
