Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and high:quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential). Plan and develop innovative schemes of work that inspire students to develop practical cooking skills and an understanding of nutrition and food science. Teach a range of topics including food preparation, hygiene, safety, and healthy eating. Create a safe, well:organised, and stimulating kitchen/classroom environment in line with health and safety regulations. Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development. Promote independence, creativity, and confidence through practical learning experiences. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities. Maintain high expectations for behaviour and promote a positive learning environment. Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student achievement and wellbeing. Candidate Profile Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is preferred. Strong subject knowledge in food, nutrition, and health and safety practices. Passion for practical education and developing essential life skills in students. Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs. Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills. Commitment to ongoing professional development. Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
