Our Global Healthcare Centre of Excellence shares best practices from over 400 projects worldwide to deliver innovative healthcare solutions. Our Building Services team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join onsite at a hospital project in London.
The role’s primary purpose is to undertake planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and new installations covering a broad range of electrical equipment, services, and systems within a hospital environment.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting Operations Management in providing 24-hour maintenance services in the hospital.
* Working safely on ELV/LV and generated electrical systems, complying with all statutory regulations, health and safety legislation, and acting as a Competent Person (LV) for Skanska Facility Services.
* Maintaining hospital equipment, plant, services, and systems, including inspection and testing of electrical installations and portable appliances.
* Carrying out electrical installations for new work or modifications, adhering to IEE Regulations, HSWA, HTMs, and other relevant legislation.
* Performing basic mechanical services tasks as outlined in the electrical to mechanical conversion course.
* Promoting a customer service culture and liaising with other departments regarding maintenance issues.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience in building maintenance and hospital systems.
* Experience working with specialized hospital equipment.
* Qualifications including BTEC/HNC or City & Guilds Craft certificate, recognized apprenticeship, and current 18th Edition IEE Regulation certificate.
* Knowledge of hospital-specific regulations (HTMs).
* Ability to plan and organize own activities, communicate technical issues clearly, and supervise maintenance staff or contractors.
* Experience working alone and in hospital environments is preferred.
