I'm delighted to be supporting a long-standing, returning client - a UK designer-manufacturer of industrial firefighting equipment and integrated suppression systems used across oil & gas, chemical, marine and heavy manufacturing. Overview
You will manage the technical delivery of firefighting/suppression system projects from concept to handover, ensuring compliance with standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
* Lead engineering design for water-based and foam deluge systems and packaged skids.
* Create 3D models of equipment and skid packages (Inventor or similar).
* Produce and maintain P&IDs, specifications, BoMs, manuals and procedures.
* Run risk assessments; ensure designs meet NFPA and UL/FM requirements.
* Plan and track timelines, budgets and deliverables with internal teams and suppliers.
* Support installation, commissioning, site visits and troubleshooting.
* Keep project records accurate for internal and regulatory review; drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire Protection Engineering (or related).
* 3+ years in industrial equipment or fire protection/suppression engineering.
* Proficient in CAD (Inventor preferred; AutoCAD beneficial) and analysis tools.
* Clear communicator with solid project management skills; occasional travel as needed.
Nice to have
* Hydraulic modelling (e.g. PipeFlow, SprinkCAD).
* Awareness of hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx).
* Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and suppression technologies.
