Community Mental Health Support Worker

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, 37 hrs/week - Office based
Our client is seeking a Community Mental Health Support Worker to join an established community team based in Stockport, working borough-wide.
1. Work on an individual basis, in the community with service users from diverse backgrounds who present with a wide range of mental health problems, lifestyle choices, and/or chaotic lifestyles.
2. Manage your own caseload, providing a service to people within their own homes in the community.
3. Assist and support service users to recover their mental health and to lead the lives they choose.
4. Help prevent the loss of employment, relationships, and skills, and support service users in maintaining and recovering their roles in society.
5. Develop and implement care plans.
6. Support service users in making their views known.
7. Provide practical and emotional support to service users.
8. Attend meetings, reviews, and conferences as necessary.
9. Keep and maintain records of work.
Requirements
1. UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance.
2. Experience in mental health services.
3. Commitment to promoting the needs of people with mental health problems and their carers.
4. Ability to act calmly in emergencies and respond professionally to stressful and challenging behaviour.
5. Enhanced DBS registered with the update service.
