About the Role
Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting Nursery Assistants to work within friendly and supportive early years settings in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with young children and supporting their early development in a nurturing environment.
As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children’s learning through play, helping to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating setting where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the day-to-day care and supervision of children in the nursery
2. Assisting with planned activities that support early years development (EYFS)
3. Encouraging learning through play, exploration, and interaction
4. Supporting children’s social, emotional, and communication development
5. Assisting with feeding, toileting, and personal care where required
6. Helping to set up and tidy away activities and learning environments
7. Promoting positive behaviour and building children’s confidence
8. Observing and reporting on children’s progress to senior staff
9. Supporting routines, including mealtimes, nap times, and transitions
10. Working collaboratively with nursery staff and management
11. Ensuring safeguarding, welfare, and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
12. Experience working with young children (nursery or early years experience desirable)
13. A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
14. Understanding of early years development (EYFS knowledge beneficial)
15. Strong communication and teamwork skills
16. Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
17. An enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to apply
18. Right to work in the UK
