We’re looking for an experienced Head of Payment Operations to lead our non-card payment operations function and manage critical relationships with domestic payment schemes. This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, can lead a small team, and has a deep understanding of payment rails and operational governance.
About the Role:
You will be the go-to expert for non-card payments, responsible for owning and managing relationships with Pay.UK (FPS & BACS) and other key domestic and European payment schemes (SEPA, CHAPS etc.). You’ll drive operational excellence, compliance, and resilience across payment operations while working closely with cross-functional teams on new initiatives, testing, reporting, and scheme requirements.
This role combines strategic leadership with practical involvement, giving you the opportunity to lead your team, manage relationships, and stay close to operational detail when needed.
