Closing Date: 26th June 2025 Let us introduce the role Working in small team of Engineers focussing on sensor and actuator mechanical design, responsibilities include but are not limited to: Designing and developing electro-mechanical sensors and actuators Solving complex engineering problems related to sensor and actuator design Conducting research and development to innovate and improve sensor and actuator technologies Applying principles of mechanical design, electrical/electronic engineering, and design for manufacture to create robust solutions Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements Working closely with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the feasibility and quality of designs Providing technical guidance and support throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through production Analysing performance metrics and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives Preparing detailed documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders including senior leadership, colleagues, process owners and operators Ensuring compliance with relevant technical standards, legislation, and company policies Who are we looking for? We do need you to have the following: A proven background in the design of electro-mechanical sensors and/or actuators Experience in mechanical design and an awareness of electrical/electronic engineering Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following: Communication through various means including presenting, creating slides packs, authoring technical reports, capturing minutes. Circumstances ranging from in-team to multi-organisation international forums. Design for manufacture Working with potential manufacturers & suppliers Research & development Problem solving Degree in an engineering discipline or similar with equivalent experience Knowledge/experience working with weapons systems MATLAB/Simulink experience Product lifecycle management knowledge You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload.
