Senior Sous Chef
Location: Inverness, Scotland
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Step into a senior leadership role at one of the city ' s leading restaurants, housed in a striking riverside location. This busy, high-energy restaurant serves up to 250 covers per day, with a strong emphasis on exceptional butchery and seafood .
As Senior Sous Chef, you will be instrumental in supporting the Head Chef and setting new standards - pushing food quality, driving operational excellence, and helping shape the future of the business. There's real scope to make your mark.
What You'll Do
Assist the Head Chef in all kitchen operations, ensuring service runs smoothly and to the highest standard
Be hands-on in daily service, stepping in where needed and delivering consistency in every dish
Drive the development and execution of menus focusing on seasonal local produce
Support cost control via stock management, GP monitoring, purchasing, and waste control
Mentor, train, and lead junior chefs with clear direction, motivation, and coaching
Uphold rigorous food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Work closely with management to deliver on KPIs and maintain operational excellence
About You
Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a busy, high-volume restaurant or similar environment
Proven expertise with meat & seafood cooking
Strong commercial awareness - you understand GP, cost of goods, labour control, and profitability
Natural leader: calm under pressure, organised, effective communicator, hands-on approach
Ambitious and driven: you want to grow, influence, and deliver culinary excellence

£1,200 KPI dependent bonus (paid every two months)
Average monthly tips of £1,000 (this rises considerably during peak season)
45-hour workweek (very rarely more, with time off in lieu)
5-day workweek
Temporary accommodation (above the restaurant) for 3 months to aid relocation
