We are looking for a proactive and safety-focused Occupational Health Technician to support employee health within a regulated chemical manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible, site-based role where you'll work closely with Operations, EHS and leadership teams to ensure health surveillance, compliance and wellbeing standards are maintained across a COMAH-regulated setting.
The Role
Conducting health surveillance (e.g. audiometry, spirometry, skin checks) and fitness-for-work assessments linked to chemical and process risks
Preparing reports, escalating abnormal findings, and coordinating follow-up with Occupational Health Advisors and Physicians
Monitoring surveillance data to identify exposure trends and emerging workplace health risks
Supporting workplace investigations, risk assessments and compliance activities
Delivering DSE, manual handling and ergonomic guidance within production areas
Carrying out drugs and alcohol screening and taking aural impressions for personalised hearing protection
Maintaining accurate recall systems, confidential medical records, and ensuring equipment hygiene, calibration and compliance
Contributing to clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or willingness to study towards)
Knowledge of occupational health screening techniques
Experience within a manufacturing, production, chemical or COMAH-regulated environment highly desirable
Background in occupational health, healthcare, sport science or safety advantageous
Comfortable working in operational plant areas and engaging with frontline teams
Strong attention to detail, discretion and organisational skills
