Job Description
Our client is a well respected large Accountancy Practice who are continuingly growing and offer great career opportunities. They are seeking an experienced senior tax specialist to head up private clients and manage an established tax team.
The role can be tailored around the successful candidate’s skill set and would be ideal for an individual seeking a Tax Manager / Associate Director role.
Responsibilities:
Manging your own varied portfolio of clients
Preparing annual tax returns for individuals and partnerships; along with P11ds
Experience of CIS and ATED would be preferred but not essential
Experience in estates and trusts would be preferred nut not essential
Corresponding with clients and HM Revenue and Customs as required, including assisting with any enquiries raised
Managing, supporting and developing (personally and technically) a team of advisors
Reviewing work to ensure quality is maintained throughout the team
Liaising with accounts team members to ensure timely service
Preparing capital gains tax computations
Providing advice to clients in respect of personal taxes
Tax research as necessary
Supporting the other tax professionals across the practice
Supporting the Directors and senior staff in more complex tax queries, including meeting clients to advise on their affairs
Skills and Qualities required
ATT or CTA qualified; or simply qualified by experience
Extensive experience in preparing personal tax computations and returns for a variety of clients
Proven experience in managing a personal tax team
Experience of Iris suite of programs is desirable (but not essential as training will be given)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good attention to detail
Focused on meeting deadlines through effective multi-tasking
Commercial approach to work
Clean driving licence with access to a car for business use
Motivated and committed to provide an excellent service to both clients and colleagues
Enthusiasm and desire to succeed
Excellent organisational skills – a “finisher”
A self-confident and effective communicator
Strong inter-personal skills and getting the best from a team
Working Conditions & Package
Full time 37.5 hours per week (4 days per week / 30 hours would be considered)
28 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays
