Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Askern, Doncaster.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. Your role includes assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support to help them achieve their goals.
Our service supports individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and communication difficulties. Support involves personal care, medication, finances, activities, and more.
Qualities And Skills Required
* Relationship Building: Gaining trust, open communication, and building lasting relationships.
* Patience and Understanding: Navigating challenging situations effectively.
* Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Managing and resolving conflicts constructively.
* Must be a driver and hold a manual driving licence.
What we're looking for:
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
* Enjoy interactivity with the people we support.
Contract Options
* Various hours available.
Shift Times
* Days: Shifts between 07:00-22:00
* Sleep-ins paid at a flat rate of £63.70
* Flexibility to cover weekends on a rota basis
