About The Role
We are seeking a talented Planning Director to join our OpenDoor team in London. This full-time role reports to the Regional Planning Lead and manages a team of four across EU markets. The role is essential in supporting WPP’s mission to deliver consistent, excellent service for Amazon’s diverse businesses, including XCM, Prime Video, and RMI.
Responsibilities
Media planning:
* Develop an understanding of media channels, ecosystems, and planning best practices.
* Translate strategic approaches into planning practices for client briefs and pitches.
* Master Purchase Journey thinking and planning, utilizing internal and external tools to understand consumers and opportunities.
* Maintain an overview of media market trends and build relationships with media owners.
Campaign management & communication:
* Oversee campaign quality and output.
* Understand commercial practices and agency operations.
* Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams.
Communications planning & storytelling:
* Lead multi-market communication strategies.
* Guide planning teams on campaigns and workstreams.
* Own planning presentations and narratives, collaborating across teams to meet deadlines.
* Lead brainstorms and campaign ideation.
* Problem-solve independently, leveraging data and insights.
* Assist in data-driven marketing campaigns, bridging Amazon and WPP technologies.
* Utilize tools like WPP Open for planning and optimization.
* Collaborate with WPP and Amazon teams for seamless execution.
* Explore new marketing technologies and industry trends.
