Job Title: Hazardous Waste Senior Advisor

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the Hazardous Waste team in managing daily activities and supporting regulatory reform initiatives. You will play a key role in transitioning the regime to 'business as usual'.
Responsibilities
1. Provide technical leadership in waste classification and hazardous waste compliance.
2. Lead initiatives to improve compliance and manage priority waste streams.
3. Support regulatory challenges and contribute to circular economy efforts with Defra.
4. Support enforcement actions to reduce offending, aligned with the control strategy.
The Team
The Hazardous Waste team is a dedicated, high-performing unit within the Regime Regulation division, supporting government and industry to ensure proper hazardous waste management. We promote a culture of inclusivity, evidence-based decision-making, and innovation.
Candidate Requirements
* Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse backgrounds and foster inclusive practices.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
* Experience in environmental legislation, particularly waste management laws.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven leadership in technical projects and resource management.
