An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position is office-based at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills, as liaising with internal and external stakeholders is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and negotiating renewals.
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management.
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports.
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies.
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to.
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively.
* Handle credit applications and provide PODs.
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions.
* Control credit limits and manage litigation and insolvency issues.
* Set and review credit policies and manage credit notes.
* Assess risks for existing accounts and new applicants.
* Maintain strong relationships across departments.
* Review sales Terms and Conditions before approval.
* Visit customers and company sites as needed.
