What You ll Be Doing
As a Customer Advisor, your role will be to provide a high-quality customer transaction, enquiry, and information service to East Riding residents.
You will work as part of a team and engage with customers in various ways: face-to-face, via telephone, or email, dealing with a broad range of enquiries about all council services. This includes dealing with queries that range from council tax and housing benefits through to requests for services such as bulky collections and applying for blue badges.
The role also involves engaging with residents and local partners to develop and promote service delivery and supporting increased use of electronic and digital channels.
About You
We are looking for a friendly, organised, and confident individual with excellent customer care skills.
You should enjoy working with customers of all ages, be able to handle difficult situations effectively, and remain calm under pressure.
You will have excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to delivering a high standard of customer service.
This job would suit someone with previous experience working with the public.
You will need to demonstrate that you:
Are an effective team player who can easily adapt to new situations and work on your own initiative.
Are passionate about working with people in a customer-focused environment, communicating clearly and providing excellent customer care.
Have excellent IT skills and can use a wide range of systems while serving customers.
Possess the ability to promote and utilise digital resources for effective service delivery.
Can effectively respond to customer enquiries through face-to-face contact, over the telephone, and via email channels.

The work is often physically demanding, involving lifting and moving around the workplace, and can occasionally be emotionally challenging when dealing with enquiries of a sensitive or demanding nature.
