Specialist Practitioner – Autism/CCN Team
Worcestershire County Council is recruiting two full‑time Specialist Practitioners (Teaching Assistants) to join the Specialist Teaching Service within the Autism/CCN team. The role is based at Pershore Civic Centre and is county‑wide.
Salary: £26,052 – £27,382 per annum plus a SEN payment of £1,251. 35 hours per week. Permanent contract.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver evidence‑based programmes and interventions for autistic children and other neurodivergent pupils.
* Deliver 1:1 and small‑group support across Worcestershire settings.
* Provide training to school staff to become Autism Mentors.
* Support the Autism/CCN Team with face‑to‑face and online training.
* Must be self‑motivated, organised and able to manage a varied workload across multiple settings.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in supporting pupils with special needs, particularly autistic children.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for working with neurodivergent children.
* Neuro‑affirming ethos and curiosity about underlying reasons for a child’s needs.
Successful candidates will receive timely guidance and support as they become familiar with the role.
