Role Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Scheme Delivery Manager to join a long‑term highways maintenance and improvement contract in Suffolk. This is a key role within a busy construction delivery team, overseeing multiple schemes and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain construction programmes to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
* Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors efficiently.
* Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place prior to works commencing.
* Maintain high HSEQ standards across all schemes.
* Liaise with stakeholders including local authorities, designers, network managers, and community representatives.
* Ensure all site personnel are competent, trained, and compliant.
* Take responsibility for commercial performance in collaboration with commercial teams.
* Maintain accurate site records including site diaries, resource allocation, and as‑built information.
* Support programme development, phasing plans, and construction methodologies.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners.
* Assist with Early Contractor Involvement, buildability reviews, and traffic management integration.
* Participate in value engineering and value management activities.
* Work in line with internal quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
Qualifications
* SMSTS or IOSH.
* CSCS.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* HNC or Degree in a construction‑related discipline (desirable).
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience delivering highways or civil engineering schemes.
* Strong understanding of health and safety management.
* Ability to manage costs and control budgets effectively.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
* Innovative approach with the ability to identify improved methods of working.
