Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Full-time contracts – SEND Primary & Secondary Schools – London – £83.50 - £100 per day
We are currently recruiting Special Needs Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time basis in SEND specialist schools across London.
We have full-time Special Needs Teaching Assistant opportunities in specialist schools supporting children and young people with a range of learning and development needs including Autism, PMLD and Behavioural Needs (SEMH).
Responsibilities
* Support students across a range of learning and development activities in specialist settings (Autism and SEMH).
* Build relationships quickly, establish routines with a consistent approach, and communicate clearly in suitable ways; integrate pupils’ interests.
* Support students to develop day-to-day and academic skills, build self-esteem and regulate emotions.
* Assist with managing challenging behaviour; teachers and school leaders provide training and guidance to de-escalate situations.
* Commit to a full-time schedule (8.30am to 4.00pm, Mon – Fri) for the full academic year.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children (assistance available to obtain if needed).
* Two references covering the past two years.
* Careful, dedicated and professional approach to working with young people with special educational needs.
* Experience in SEN is helpful, but many candidates gain experience on the job with training and guidance from teachers and school leaders.
