Job summary
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our East Crisis Team. The team is based in Basepoint Business Park in Havant but we have satellite sites mainly in Gosport where it anticipated this post will mostly be based.
The post has arisen due to the relocation of the previous post holder. The post-holder will work in a team with another experienced, substantive full-time consultant and a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nurses, psychologists, healthcare support works, occupational therapists, care navigators, social workers, and pharmacists, as well as doctors in training grades (Core Trainees and Senior Registrars), medical students, ACP, student nurses.
Main duties of the job
This post is for a 5 PA Consultant in Crisis and Home Treatment (in Adult Mental Health) in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire. This is a great opportunity to join a team committed to continuous service improvement.
The crisis and home treatment offer a 24/7 service for adult (and from time-to-time older adults with functional illnesses). Urgent assessments are tri-aged directly by CRHTT and "soon" or "routine" appointments would be referred to the CMHTs. This CRHTT covers the whole of South East Hampshire and provides gatekeeping for admissions to the acute care pathway for adult mental health beds. The base is in Havant with satellite clinic rooms at Basepoint or at Gosport War Memorial Hospital. The post holder will have the choice to review patients at their home.

-24/7 111 Mental Health service
-Safe-haven run by the voluntary sector with mental health team sup-port in Havant.
-24/7 Mental Health Liaison service based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital
- Place of safety (S136 suite) Elmleigh Hospital.
-Shared care in Community Mental Health Teams
This significantly supports the team to be part of a network of teams and services helping patients and carers and offering a range of support to meet their needs.

Essential
4. Full Registration with the General Medical Council
5. To hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post
6. MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
7. Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview.
8. Approved under section 12(2) of the
9. Mental Health Act 1983.
Experience
Essential
10. At least 6 months experience of working in CRHTT setting at ST4+ level or equivalent.
11. At least 6 months clinical experience of working in an NHS setting.
12. Excellent knowledge in specialty
13. Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social
14. perspective and wide medical knowledge
15. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
16. Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
17. Makes decisions based on evidence and experience
18. including the contribution of others
19. Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
