SoccerstarsUK, coach over 5000 children per week in the Derbyshire, Staffordshire, and the Nottinghamshire area and are looking to recruit an enthusiastic & dedicated Physical Education & Schools Lead to join our already talented team.
Job Title: Physical Education & Schools Sport Lead
Hours: 35 hours per week
Based: Derby / Derbyshire / Burton and the surrounding areas
Main Duties:
The role will include the following:
* We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced PE specialist to join our team and play a key role in shaping the delivery of high-quality physical education within our partner schools. This is a unique opportunity to inspire young people through sport, while also leading and managing key aspects of our growing programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging, progressive PE lessons across KS1 and KS2, ensuring a lasting impact on teaching and learning.
* Lead the development of lunchtime and after-school sports clubs, supporting schools in achieving competitive success as well as promoting health and wellbeing.
* Take full responsibility for managing existing school contracts while identifying and securing new partnerships.
* Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with partner schools to ensure sustainable growth and positive outcomes.
* Oversee all SoccerstarsUK Physical Education Programmes, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with school needs.
* Proactively identify new opportunities and innovative programmes to expand the reach and effectiveness of our school delivery.
* Manage and develop the team of SoccerstarsUK coaches, directly coordinating all staff working on your programmes.
* Support with the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of new coaches to maintain high delivery standards.
* Contribute to the development of the SoccerstarsUK Technical Programme and Coaching Syllabus.
* Regularly deliver coaching sessions in line with priorities set by the Business & Operations Manager.
(Hybrid working with your shift pattern & hours to be negotiated at interview but will involve a minimum one evening and one weekend session)
Requirements for the position:
* Degree in Sport or Level 3 AfPE PESS qualification (or working towards).
* UEFA C / Level 2 Football Coaching Qualification.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the National PE Curriculum.
* Proven experience of leading and mentoring staff teams.
* Full UK driving licence, own transport, and flexibility to travel between schools.
* Residing within the local or surrounding areas.
* Excellent organisation and communication skills.
* A clean, up-to-date DBS check, with valid First Aid and Safeguarding certification.
* Previous experience working within a primary school environment.
Experience
* Proven track record working within the primary education sector, delivering high-quality PE to KS1 and KS2 pupils.
* Experience engaging a wide range of children, including those with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
* Skilled in collaborating with school staff, building strong relationships, and supporting teachers in delivering PE programmes.
* Comfortable using school facilities and resources to create enjoyable, inclusive, and effective PE sessions.
* Experience in designing and implementing strategies to increase participation and improve pupil outcomes in sport and physical activity.
Skills & Knowledge
* Strong understanding of PE curriculum planning, assessment, and lesson delivery in primary schools.
* Ability to create safe, structured, and engaging learning environments that achieve desired learning outcomes.
* Comprehensive awareness of child protection, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures.
* Familiarity with the rhythm of the school day and how to integrate PE seamlessly within school schedules.
* Significant experience delivering PE in primary school settings (3+ years preferred).

Qualifications & Technical Skills
* Relevant coaching or teaching qualifications, such as NGB Level 2, UEFA C / Level 2 Football Coaching, or Level 3 PE & School Sport certificate
* Degree in Sport or Level 3 AfPE PESS qualification (or working towards).
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Proficient in ICT, including Microsoft Office and email communication.
