What you’ll do on a typical day:
o Liaising with transport manager, yard clerk and supervisors to ensure smooth and timely loading of trailers
o Moving Class 1 trailers and Class 2 rigids on and off bays and around the site
o Completing daily yard audits and temperature checks on vehicles, ensuring the safe movement of large vehicles and trailers around the site
o Ensuring that all Health and Safety processes are followed and always observed and highlighting any safety issues that arise
What you need to succeed at GXO:
A valid Class 1 driving licence, CPC, and Digi Tacho card
o A clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points (excluding DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements)
o Previous shunting experience – desirable but not essential for the right candidate
o A strong awareness of site Health & Safety standards and the safe movement of vehicles in a busy yard environment
o The flexibility and resilience to work outdoors in all weather conditions
