Healthcare Cleaning Professional - Elmhurst
An exciting opportunity has arrived to join the small domestic team at Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre, Winsford. This demanding, fast‑paced role requires cleaning all areas within the unit, including high‑risk areas to a very high standard, and may involve assisting with the transfer of patients or deliveries to the site.
Working hours: 18 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Pay: £25,272 per year pro rata (Band 2). Contract: permanent, part‑time. Location: Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre, Roehurst Lane, Winsford, CW8 1AW.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide and maintain essential cleaning services in patient rooms, common areas, staff and public areas as part of a small team.
* Respond quickly and efficiently to cleaning requests following spillages.
* Deliver specialist cleaning processes for furnishings, floorings and surfaces.
* Clean general and patient equipment in accordance with agreed guidance from Infection Control, Elmhurst management and the Domestic Supervisor.
* Complete written schedules of work and weekly stock/linen orders.
* Clean isolation and infection areas in accordance with Trust Infection Control Policy.
* Adhere to the Legionella Policy.
* Clean patient areas ready for re‑occupancy.
* Assist in maintaining safe and tidy rooms or department areas (e.g., removing clutter, unwanted or out of date notices).
* Report problems with cleanliness to the Domestic Supervisor.
* Dispose of household, confidential and clinical waste in accordance with legislation and Trust policy.
* Maintain and clean manual and electrical cleaning equipment.
* Be aware of the safety of other peoples’ property and belongings.
Essential Requirements
* Good standard of general education, including Mathematics and English Language & Literacy.
* Experience of working in a healthcare area.
* Experience of working with the general public.
* Teamworking.
* Good attendance record.
* Ability to perform a wide range of duties according to the job description.
Qualifications

* Experience of working with the general public.

Previous Experience
* Previous experience of working as a domestic assistant.
* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable.
