What you'll be doing * Conduct regular inspections of conveyor belts and sortation controls to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance. * Respond to breakdowns and troubleshoot technical problems with conveyor belts and sortation controls, including identifying faulty components, replacing parts, and resetting systems. * Carry out preventative maintenance on conveyor belts and sortation controls, including lubrication, cleaning, and calibration. * Work with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures and protocols. * Identify opportunities for improvement in the maintenance of conveyor belts and sortation controls, and provide recommendations to management. * Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment. * Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices. What you need to show us * Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment. * Excellent knowledge of conveyor belt and sortation control systems, including electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components * Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and effectively. * Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines. * Qualification in an engineering or technical discipline, such as electrical or mechanical engineering. * Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience working in a safe and clean working environment. * Flexibility to work a 4on 4off shift pattern, including weekends and nights
