Data Product Owner

Salary: £72,000 - £77,506 plus 15% performance bonus
Job Summary
We’re looking for a Data Product Owner to define and deliver data products that make a real difference across NHBC. You’ll set the vision, shape the roadmap, and work with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure your product is trusted, valuable, and aligned to our strategic goals.
Reporting to the Data Product Delivery Manager, you’ll be the voice of the business within the data team, translating needs into clear priorities, ensuring solutions are practical and impactful, and championing a 'data as a product' mindset that treats data as one of NHBC’s most important assets.
What You’ll Do
 * Own the vision, purpose, and roadmap for a specific data product or domain (e.g. claims, customer insight, or regulatory reporting)
 * Collaborate with stakeholders to define outcomes, priorities, and success measures
 * Manage a clear, prioritised backlog and work closely with technical delivery teams
 * Define and communicate acceptance criteria and track product performance over timeEnsure alignment with governance, privacy, and architectural standards
 * Act as the first point of contact for business engagement, feedback, and decisions
 * Support and embed data ownership and stewardship within your business area
What You’ll Bring
 * Experience in data, digital, or product delivery roles
 * Proven ability to engage business users and translate needs into clear requirements
 * Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences
 * Experience working in agile or iterative delivery environments
 * A user focused, outcome driven mindset with strong accountability
 * Understanding of data as a product, data lifecycle, and data quality principles
 * Awareness of data governance and protection fundamentals
