Position: Engineering Problem Designer
Type: Independent Contractor
Compensation: $60–$80/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: Approximately 2 months
Commitment: 20–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
* Design original, advanced engineering problems requiring creative reasoning and multi-domain integration.
* Evaluate AI-generated engineering solutions for technical accuracy and adherence to constraints.
* Identify logical gaps and incorrect modeling assumptions.
* Provide well-documented solutions using LaTeX for equations and schematics.
* Maintain high standards of technical precision and conceptual depth.
* Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.
Qualifications
Must-Have
* Advanced degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, aerospace, or chemical engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Experience designing or grading complex analytical problems.
* Participation in or mentorship for engineering competitions.
* Research or teaching experience in applied problem formulation.
* Proficiency in LaTeX for technical document formatting.
Preferred
* Deep understanding of core engineering principles and real-world systems.
* Ability to communicate step-by-step reasoning and assumptions clearly.
* Strong intuition for problem difficulty and conceptual progression.
* Detail-oriented verification of results and internal consistency.
Start Date
* Rolling onboarding; start typically within 1–2 days after approval.
