As part of their strategic growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Structural Draughtsperson / Detailer (Light Gauge Steel) to take a lead role in technical delivery and help build out a future internal design team. The Opportunity This is a senior technical role, ideally suited to an experienced LGS professional who enjoys hands-on detailing and wants to shape the technical function of a growing business. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D detailing and modelling, overseeing drawing packages for manufacturing, and working closely with the Kent-based production team. As the business expands, you will also have the opportunity to build and lead a small internal draughting team. Requirements Key Responsibilities Create detailed 2D and 3D models, fabrication drawings, and CNC files for manufacturing Oversee design development from initial brief through to production, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations Coordinate with the manufacturing team and wider business to ensure project quality and buildability Establish and refine internal detailing standards and procedures Support and mentor future junior design staff as part of the company’s growth strategy Candidate Profile At least 5 years' experience in Light Gauge Steel design or detailing within the UK market Proficient in Arkitech software (preferred), or Tekla, Vertex BD, Framecad, StrucSoft, AutoCAD, or SketchUp Comprehensive knowledge of light steel systems, structural design principles, Eurocodes and UK building standards Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture Based in or near Kent, with the ability to be present at the facility regularly (office-based preferred)
