SEMH Teaching Assistant – Chepstow Full-time and part-time roles available | Term-time only Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30 A primary school in the Chepstow area is looking to welcome SEMH Teaching Assistants to start in September 2025, with trial days available before the summer holidays. About the role You will be working closely with pupils who require additional support with their emotional wellbeing, either on a one-to-one basis or in small group settings. The role involves promoting engagement, managing behaviour positively, and encouraging personal and social development through structured, consistent support. What you’ll be doing Supporting children with SEMH needs either in class or in targeted interventions Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour plans Helping pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and social skills Maintaining a calm, structured environment to support learning Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external agencies Contributing to the development and review of support strategies Who we are looking for We welcome applications from individuals with experience in education, care, youth work, or mental health support – particularly those who have worked with children or young people facing emotional or behavioural difficulties.
