Electronics Test Technician
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
About the Role
We are seeking an Electronics Test Technician to join a growing manufacturing team responsible for the testing, fault finding, repair, and calibration of electrical and electromechanical products
Working closely with production, assembly, and engineering teams, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet quality, safety, and performance standards before release
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electronics technician with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBAs, and electromechanical products
* Perform fault finding, diagnosis, and repair at component and system level
* Support assembly, calibration, and testing activities across production operations
* Maintain and repair test equipment used within manufacturing processes
* Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
* Complete work using job packets, routings, work orders, bills of materials, and quality documentation
* Record test results and maintain accurate production records
* Support continuous improvement activities within manufacturing and testing processes
* Work closely with production technicians, assemblers, engineers, and supervisors to meet delivery schedules
Essential Skills & Experience
* Qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (NVQ, ONC, HNC, HND or equivalent)
* Experience in electronics testing, fault finding, and repair
* Ability to diagnose faults at board, assembly, and system level
* Experience using electronic test equipment including
* Multimeter
* Oscilloscope
* Bench power supplies
* Diagnostic and measurement equipment
* Knowledge of electrical and electromechanical assemblies
* Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Strong understanding of manufacturing and quality processes
* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
Desirable Skills
* Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
* Experience with MRP/ERP systems
* Knowledge of soldering, crimping, wiring, and harness repair
* Experience maintaining production test equipment
* Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
