What You'll Be Doing
Working well with customers
Prior to each service commencing you will carry out new customer sign‑ups and risk assessments, create and agree individually tailored, written care and support plans that respect each customer's wishes, dignity, and privacy. You will keep care plans up to date and ensure customers and their families are always well informed about the service.
Leading and supporting your team
You will give care assistants the information, guidance, and supervision they need to deliver safe, high‑quality care. Working with our coordinators, you will help match support workers to customers, attend first calls to make introductions, and ensure any schedule changes are reported promptly to all relevant parties. You will also distribute, collect, and monitor MAR charts, and support the training and development of care assistants. Where needed, you will arrange and manage staff changeovers and briefings for live‑in care assignments.
On‑call responsibilities
You will take part in the out‑of‑hours emergency on‑call rota on a rotational basis. This includes managing on‑call issues such as arranging cover for sickness and absence, attending or coordinating calls when needed, and recording and communicating emergency information to the relevant parties.
Driving quality and compliance
You will investigate service quality matters and implement meaningful improvements, carrying out quality reviews at customers' homes to ensure care is delivered in line with company procedures. You will apply Bluebird Care's policies and procedures at all times and ensure that accidents and incidents are recorded, reported, and acted upon in line with regulatory requirements.
Being a key part of the Bluebird Care team
You will lead staff and customer meetings, work flexibly to meet business needs, and collaborate with health and social care professionals, customers' families, and colleagues across all four branches.
What We're Looking For
* Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or working towards a Level 3 at a minimum)
* Experience working in a care setting
* A good understanding of person‑centred care and support planning
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, families, and professionals
* Confidence leading and supporting a team of care assistants
* Ability to write clear risk assessments, care plans, and records
* Good IT and administrative skills
* Willingness to participate in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota
* A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points and Class 1 business insurance (valid MOT required)
* Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS clearance
