What You’ll Be Doing
As a Child Protection Social Worker, you’ll work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team supporting families through complex safeguarding processes. Your role will include:
* Delivering services in line with statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 and related legislation
* Undertaking comprehensive assessments of children’s needs, following Surrey’s policies and procedures
* Developing and reviewing effective care plans that promote safety, stability, and wellbeing
* Providing tailored support and guidance to help families build resilience
* Preparing high-quality reports for court and professional meetings, and presenting evidence when required
* Chairing multi-agency meetings to coordinate and review safeguarding plans
* Maintaining accurate records and updating the case management system
* Working closely with Lead Family Help Practitioners to lead statutory interventions
* Engaging in direct work with children and families to progress plans
* Completing specialist assessments following appropriate training
What You’ll Need
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
* At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in UK social work
* Registration with Social Work England (SWE)
* A recognised Social Work degree (or equivalent)
* An Enhanced DBS (we’ll support you in obtaining this)
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Flexibility to travel across Surrey as required
