As a Sous Chef in our catering team, you'll play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping deliver high-quality food that makes a real difference to the people we serve.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll help create delicious, well‑presented meals while maintaining excellent standards of safety, consistency and care. Your work will help create positive experiences every day — whether that's supporting wellbeing, building community, or delivering food people can truly enjoy.
What you'll do as a Sous Chef
You'll be entrusted to:
* Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
* Help develop menus, including seasonal and special offerings
* Supervise, guide and support colleagues to deliver consistent quality
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness
* Manage stock control, ordering and waste reduction
* Lead the kitchen during the Head Chef’s absence and oversee service during busy periods

You'll be a great fit for this role if you have:
* Experience as a Sous Chef, or strong experience as a Senior Chef de Partie
* Confidence leading a kitchen team in a fast‑paced environment
* A solid understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
* A creative, practical approach to food and menu development
* Strong communication and organisational skills
