Job Description
3. Lead and develop the Finance Team to deliver robust, customer-focused services.
4. Produce statutory accounts, manage treasury activities, and support budget preparation.
5. Provide strategic financial insight and support corporate decision-making.
6. Maintain strong financial control systems and support performance management.
7. Deliver training and guidance to non-finance managers on financial procedures.
8. Represent the finance function in cross-departmental projects and external meetings.
9. Act as a senior corporate leader and deputise for the Head of Finance as required.
The Successful Applicant
What we're looking for:
10. CCAB qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS or Chartered Accountants Ireland).
11. Proven senior-level experience in financial and staff management.
12. Strong knowledge of local government finance and accounting standards.
13. Excellent analytical, communication, and IT skills (especially MS Excel).
14. Resilient, politically aware, and confident in influencing others.
Desirable:
15. Degree-level qualification.
