Duties & Role:
Under the direction of NSO OOX 0100, the incumbent will perform duties such as the following:
Data Entry Management
1. Discusses data entry operations needs of major or primary clients.
2. Identifies the types of data processed in the business unit.
3. Describes the major activities of data entry staff.
4. Names internal or external publications and sources of information.
Distribution Centre Management - GCF
5. Participates in distribution network analysis and network modelling activities.
6. Manages all aspects of one or more distribution centres.
7. Continues to mechanize distribution centre activities.
8. Explains and walks through a complete distribution centre network; participates in design.
9. Assesses alternative distribution designs and considerations for demand and source locations.
10. Implements tools for sharing inventory and distribution information with other computer systems.
Inventory Management - GCF
11. Coordinates daily work of inventory management for different locations within a facility or a supply network.
12. Devises standard inventory management benchmarks to improve the processes.
13. Ensures that the inventory is at an appropriate level and meets both internal and external requirements.
14. Provides guidance on inventory management for a specific product group or location.
15. Applies systems and processes to identify and coordinate inventory requirements; resolves conflicts.
16. Reviews reports used for inventory management to find out related problems.
Logistics Management - GCF
17. Develops and analyses logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
18. Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.
19. Implements and maintains monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.
20. Works with historical, legislative and practical issues associated with domestic freight.
21. Participates in contract negotiations and interfaces with selected carriers necessary to maintain expected levels of service.
22. Consults on all major logistics processes, their interactions and operational requirements.
Supply Chain Management - GCF
23. Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.
24. Participates in joint planning, process design/redesign with clients and partners.
25. Monitors the complete supply chain management process.
26. Manages supply chain finance activities and measurements of effectiveness.
27. Consults on supply chain network design projects or processes.
28. Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
29. The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
30. Higher vocational training or secondary education.
31. 3 years of experience in Supply, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience
32. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) such as ERP oracle based systems
33. Basic knowledge of safety protocols and equipment handling
