Our client, a leading consultancy in the water sector, is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on non-infrastructure projects for major water utilities such as Welsh Water, Wessex Water, and Thames Water. The position is based either in Bristol or London.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the design and implementation of civil engineering solutions for non-infrastructure water projects
Collaborating with stakeholders from major water utilities to ensure project alignment and success
Developing detailed design plans and specifications in compliance with industry standards and regulations
Conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to inform project design
Overseeing the preparation of technical reports and documentation
Managing project resources and timelines to deliver projects within scope and budget
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
Job Requirements:
Experience in civil design engineering within the water sector
Proficiency in developing and managing designs for non-infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
Excellent project management skills, including resource and time management
Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and reports
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, contract-based environment
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
